In accordance with the district’s plan and to try to maintain a level of physical activity while we are at home, students are being asked to complete a physical activity log and health assignments in replacement of regular physical education at school. It is our goal that by doing so, students will maintain the levels of participation they would receive while attending school and as parents ourselves we have tried to provide realistic expectations for these activities. With that all in mind we are asking students to do a minimum of 30 minutes of activity when logging. Students are encouraged to partake in at least 30 minutes of physical activity everyday, but are only required to log 2 sessions, which will be explained below.
Since there’s an increased likelihood that all students will participate successfully when they have a choice of what type of activity they do we have provided a wide array of options which are accessible through their google classroom account. Most activities are short, so multiple activities will be listed on the log to equal 30 minutes or more. I will also add more activities to the suggested list as I make new options or find other options online.
We feel those who complete their fitness logs will find joy in the various activities we have listed, as well as any they come up with on their own. Each week, there will be a form for students to fill out and log their physical activities for that week, which will be accessible on this website. If you are having issues, please send us an email and I can give you alternate options or I can call and try to assist them over the phone.
